Dorset Probation leads the way with improving Victim contact

pam, the powerful cloud software from Alliantist is being rolled out in Dorset Probation to help the Trust in its work with victims.  By being first with the new pan-government accredited IL3 version of the pam platform for all its victim work, John Wiseman, CEO of Dorset Probation has continued his philosophy of pioneering and innovating for the public good.

He said: “I was one of the first to start using pam several years ago and it has served our organisation and partners well.  We have worked closely with the pam team in that time and supported the development of an IL3 version of the platform.  It is great to see that hard work rewarded with a pan-government accreditation that we and our partners can trust.  Given the HMIP report issued on victim contact today it reinforces our decision to adopt pam for this work.  Our internal information sharing and that with partners will be enhanced, yet delivered at lower cost and risk.”

Mark Darby, CEO of Alliantist stated: “We are delighted to support John and his team with this initiative. Given all the uncertainty across probation it would be easy for Trusts to dismiss new ideas.  This decision, however, demonstrates strong leadership in doing the right thing for the local community and setting the tone for what can work in a new probation world whilst also addressing broader concerns raised in the HMIP report from its inspections elsewhere.”

Dorset Police and Crime Commissioner and his office also use pam for a range of initiatives.  Over half of the Probation Trusts currently use pam, with Staffordshire & West Midlands Probation pioneering its use for Restorative Justice conferencing, which will also be adopted by Dorset as one of its victim centred services.  pam is also used in many police forces and is increasingly seen as an enabler for change in wider public service, joining up organisations and their partners with better ways of working together.

pam enables you to share information and benefit from new ways of working in a secure, trusted environment. It has all the features you expect from collaboration software.  Unlike other generic services however it also equips teams with the dynamic tools, frameworks and pre-configured solutions that lead to even faster, more effective results, at lower cost.

pam is the first IL3 restricted information service of its type to receive pan-government accreditation meaning that agencies and their partners can trust the environment and quickly adopt the platform to get early benefits.  It also saves the agencies themselves spending weeks or months of cost locally assuring it.  Crucially it enhances the existing people based trust for partners to enable the ‘system wide’ trust that communities and citizens deserve when sensitive information is being shared.

IL3 refers to Business Impact Level of information and is part of the government protective marking scheme that helps users understand the importance and sensitivity of the information being handled.
